Description

Hexarelin is a synthetic hexapeptide and potent growth hormone secretagogue that belongs to the GHRP family. It stimulates growth hormone release from the pituitary gland with greater potency than earlier peptides like GHRP-6. Hexarelin has been studied for its effects on growth hormone production, cardiac function, and body composition.

Usage

Research protocols typically use 100-200 mcg per dose, administered 2-3 times daily via subcutaneous injection. Doses are commonly taken on an empty stomach, with at least 30 minutes before meals for optimal absorption. Cycling protocols of 8-12 weeks followed by breaks are often implemented to prevent desensitization.

Mechanism of Action

Hexarelin acts as a ghrelin mimetic, binding to the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a) in the pituitary gland and hypothalamus. This binding triggers a cascade that results in growth hormone release. Additionally, it demonstrates cardioprotective effects through GHS-R receptors in cardiac tissue, potentially improving ventricular function and protecting against ischemic damage independent of growth hormone effects.
